SETTING SIGHTS ON FULSHEAR
A RICH HISTORY
Sometimes it's hard to believe that Fulshear is only a half hour from Downtown Houston and minutes from the Energy Corridor. As you get closer to our town, the air seems cleaner, the skies amazingly wide open and the landscape more diverse. Thankfully, Fulshear will always maintain it's strong identity and never become just another suburb.
Churchill Fulshear and his family came here in 1824, to farm and ranch on land that was granted to Stephen F. Austin by the Mexican government. The Fulshear family not only established the area as a center for cotton, cattle, corn, livestock, horseracing and railroad commerce, but they built a fine mansion near the heart of town. When the community's streets were laid out in 1890, the town was named for Churchill Fulshear, Jr.
Fulshear remained a quiet, yet colorful town until it incorporated in 1977, positioning it for future growth and a new chapter of history.
WATCHING THE TOWN CENTER COME OF AGE
Fulshear folks know the good life and how to get things done. Today, the new chapter of history is being written thanks to the support of the Mayor and City Council, the Planning Commission and many, many devoted citizens committed to encouraging first-rate developments and a high quality of life for their town. With input from local citizens, DHK Development, Inc. recently developed Fulshear Town Center, a vibrant pedestrian oriented commercial district with restaurants, shops, offices and more businesses on the way. Plans are now in the works for an expanded Downtown on the north side of Fulshear Creek Crossing.

What do you like about living in Fulshear?
Choosing Fulshear was an easy decision for us....we have the opportunity to live in a small town about 15 minutes away from my office in La Centerra. Our kids and dogs have plenty of room to run and play. At night we get to choose between chasing fireflies, star-gazing or just listening to the quiet.
